Transformation and Education Lead Nurse for Neonates
Maternity and neonatal services at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust are inextricably interdependent and together are undergoing transformational change in line with the ambitions set out in the Maternity Transformation Programme and the National Critical Care review (NCCR) to improve outcomes for women and babies using maternity and neonatal services, including actions to improve pre-conception, antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care, all of which have an impact on neonatal outcomes.
Our vision is aligned with the national and Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) deliverables, and we are looking for an exceptional nurse to join the team to ensure our neonatal services become even safer, kinder, more personalised and family friendly.
Our aim is that every baby admitted to the Neonatal Unit will experience a healthy start to life by providing specialised care for newborns who are sick, premature, or have a low birth weight.
A key focus of this role will be the leadership, engagement, support, education and practice development of staff to deliver the new models of care.
The post holder is a key member of the Director of Midwifery office, working in partnership with the Transformation Midwife under the line management of the Lead Midwife for Governance and Quality.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Support the Neonatal Matron with the implementation of the Single Delivery Plan, and production of associated quality improvement plans and business cases.
2. Responsibility for neonatal transformation plans to the neonatal team and ensuring staff engagement.
3. Lead work streams including a range of service development and redesign projects from concept through to implementation in order to deliver the main objectives of the LMNS maternity transformation plan.
4. Contribute to the strategic planning of team projects, identifying interdependencies across projects/functions, potential impacts on wider organisation, resource requirements and building in contingency and adjustments as necessary.
5. Act as the key contact for BHNHST, liaising and negotiating with key stakeholder organisations and partners, including the Maternity & Neonatal Voices Partnerships, Local Maternity and Neonatal System, Trust communications team, multidisciplinary neonatal team.
6. Demonstrate effective stakeholder management across different departments and at all levels and external forums.
7. Contribute to the senior paediatric manager on call rota.

Person Specification
Education/Qualifications and Training
* 1st Level Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife
* Educated to First level degree (level 6 or above)
* Current NLS certification
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Leadership or management training
* Post registration qualification in mentoring and supporting students.
Experience
* Human factors/route cause analysis training or experience of/willing to undertake
* Experience of managing change
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
