During your 12-month Year in Industry placement, you will support the team delivering hydrodynamic testing and design consultancy services, gaining hands-on experience across engineering disciplines.
About the team
The Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering team consists of experts in ship & submarine seakeeping, stability, structures, resistance, propulsion, manoeuvring, and control. We deliver hydrodynamic testing and design consultancy services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct hydrodynamic simulations of ships and submarines.
* Analyze model test and numerical simulation data.
* Collaborate with subject matter experts on complex projects.
Academic Requirements:
You will need to be working towards a degree in:
* Offshore engineering
* Mechanical engineering
* Mathematics
* Applied physics
* Aero/Hydrodynamics
Additional Requirements:
* Knowledge of data analysis and programming (Matlab, Python, etc.).
* Desire to develop technical skills.
* Highly motivated with a positive attitude.
* Good communication skills, both written and presentational.
* Teamwork, organization, and attention to detail.
