Teaching Personnel is seeking Behaviour Support Workers to work across a large SEN setting in Pontefract, as well as schools in the surrounding areas.
This role provides the chance to support students in primary, secondary, and specialist educational environments, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and develop essential skills for their future. Many of the pupils you will work with have SEMH needs, additional learning difficulties, or other challenges requiring tailored interventions. Your role will be instrumental in providing stability, guidance, and encouragement.

Your Key Responsibilities:
* Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
* Implementing strategies to manage behaviour and create a calm learning environment.
* Supporting students with reintegration into the classroom following periods of absence.
* Delivering targeted interventions on topics such as emotional regulation, resilience, and self-esteem.
* Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to ensure pupils receive the support they need.
Who We’re Looking For:
* Individuals with a background in education, youth work, social care, or related fields.
* Those with experience supporting students with SEMH or challenging behaviours.
* A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to working with young people.
* Team Teach training is beneficial but not essential – training opportunities are available.
Transport & Accessibility: Having access to your own transport is highly advantageous, as it will allow you to take on roles at different schools in the area and expand your experience across various educational settings.
