Job Advert Role Description
The Birches is a specialist service developed to support the mental health support needs of up to 7 individuals aged 18 years and over.
We provide residential support in a homely environment in the community, supporting our residents with a positive behaviour support (PBS) approach. We want to help each person we care for to learn the skills they need to live a healthier and happier life back in the community.
As well as people with a learning disability, we can also support people who may have:
Autism
Mental health needs
Difficulties with communication
Mild to moderate behaviour that may challenge
Are you a caring and creative person who is passionate about making a real difference to someone’s life?
Both personal care and participation in activities are key parts of the Support Worker role, so energy, excellent communication and organisational skills are vital.
Previous experience as a Support Worker or Care Assistant would be beneficial, however it is not essential; all we ask is that you have a willingness to learn and the compassion to care for the people we support.
