Junior Designer Harrods presents an exciting opportunity to join the Creative Content Team as a Junior Editorial Designer on a six-month fixed term basis (February 2025 – August 2025). This role is responsible for delivering high-quality creative work across the full Harrods print publication portfolio (Harrods Magazine, Harrods Man, Home, Estates & various supplements). About the Role Our Junior Designers work in a fast paced team and are self-motivated, articulate and able to manage multiple projects/requests independently. A key part of this role is seeing the magazine process from ideation to print. Delivering high quality design, liaising with the photography/production departments and sub-editing teams whilst coordinating and managing tasks to ensure publishing deadlines are met. This role will sit within the Creative Content division and report to the Art Director. Other responsibilities include: Excellent layout skills and great typography knowledge Proficiency with design tools such as InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator is essential You will work closely with the art director and senior designer to design and maintain the magazines look and feel on regular features as well as helping with more conceptual layouts You will work across a wide team including section editors, picture editors and the production teams to produce great layouts and adhere to the workflow You will update and look after the visual flat plans and the layout wall, keeping pages up to date for other stake holders to use as reference About You As a dedicated Junior Designer, you will bring a passion for design and a meticulous eye for layouts to support the wider team and magazine. You will thrive in dynamic environments where deadlines are paramount. You have a strong genuine passion for the inner operations of a magazine and a passion for print. You'll also have: Good knowledge and a passion for magazine design, typography, photography and illustration. Previous experience working on a leading publication as a hands-on junior designer (ideal but not essential). Experience of the retail or luxury sector beneficial. The ability to think laterally and creatively to come up with great design solutions quickly and effectively in a demanding and challenging environment. Extremely strong organisational skills, being good at managing and juggling projects across publications – big and small. Natural and proactive problem solving abilities. A methodical approach, agile and thrive in a fast-moving environment. The skill to think outside the box and solve problems, not just be an artworker. Have enthusiasm about an idea and bring people along with you. Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
