This position is ideal for individuals seeking to advance their finance careers while gaining valuable experience within a large organisation. The role offers exposure to areas such as Accounts Payable/Receivable, VAT, and Finance Systems, equipping you with essential knowledge and tools for future progression into fields such as Finance Performance, Corporate Finance, and Governance.
What you’ll do
1. Support the Accounts Payable and Receivable functions, including invoice query management, dealing directly with suppliers to ensure payments are made in line with contract payment terms, and following up with debt procedures.
2. Support VAT reporting, bank reconciliation, and income allocation processes.
3. Assist with internal reviews on finance processes and provide recommendations for improvements, helping to drive efficiencies.
4. Support finance systems maintenance and work on system development projects.
5. Assist with internal control processes and provide financial information to both external and internal auditors.
What you’ll bring
1. You must either have or be working towards obtaining your AAT level 4 accounting qualification or equivalent and demonstrate experience of working in a busy finance function.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. An ability to work using your own initiative in an innovative and proactive manner, applying problem-solving skills where required.
4. Strong attention to detail and high personal and professional standards.
5. Experience of operating to strict deadlines.
6. Good understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
