We are looking to strengthen our Delivery team with a Project Engineer (no particular bias) based within our Derby office with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Project Manager and you will assist the Project Manager in co-ordinating an effective and economic plant design and procurement strategy ensuring information is issued in time to enable construction, commissioning and putting to work in line with the Contract Programme provide cost data for forecasts and evaluation of variations.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Ensure project costs do not exceed tender/varied allowance
2. Ensure all applications for payment are made on or before the due date
3. Ensure contract reviews, monthly forecasts are completed and submitted on time
4. Maintain good client relationships at all levels
5. Assist with the Project Management strategy
6. Establish and maintain the contract filing systems
7. Assist in the production of the contract programme monitor programme and produce progress reports
8. Provide data for the timely production of O&M manuals
9. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers
10. Liaise with site management on design and procurement issues
11. Monitor subcontract performance
12. Assist in the preparation of the construction completion and take over documentation
13. Ensure your own continuous professional development by participating in external networking/conferences/associations/groups, to stay current on industry changes and innovations.
14. Maintain a positive and solution oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
15. Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role
16. In all internal and external contact, present a professional and positive image of the department and MWH Treatment as well as maintaining mutually constructive, positive and beneficial relationships.
17. Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality
18. Work closely with design departments to ensure timely progressing of quality solutions
19. Evaluate innovative solutions and processes
20. Contribute to risk and opportunity schedules on a monthly basis
21. Ensure designs are developed which are safe to construct, commission, operate and maintain
22. Complete the capitalisation process
About The Candidate
Essential:
1. Basic engineering background
2. Working knowledge of various conditions of contract especially NEC
3. Engineering/ Technical qualification (HNC minimum) required
4. Experience of supply chain expedition
5. Knowledge of water and waste water treatment processes
6. CDM & Health & Safety knowledge
