We have recently formed the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group, bringing together the constituent organisations of Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust. We have agreed an ambitious Group Strategy 'Dedicated to Excellence' which sets out our strategic ambitions and priorities for the next five years. We have also launched our Group Digital Strategy, which sets out our ambitions over the next three years to become the most digital hospital in England. The post holder will work as part of a dynamic and agile digital transformation and innovation team. They will be responsible for leading, delivering and implementing complex digital programmes as part of the Digital Transformation Programme which supports University Hospitals of Northamptonshire's Digital Strategy. All members of the Digital portfolio will strive towards 'Applying the culture, processes, business models & technologies of the internet era to respond to people's raised expectations' [Tom Loosemore's definition of Digital]. The post holder will be competent with technology-enabled service re-design and service transformation. Experience of working with agile methodologies will be an advantage.
Main duties of the job
* To operate as a key member of the Group Digital Transformation and Innovation senior management team which oversees the effective delivery of programmes within digital transformation and innovation within the Group.
* Develop, lead and manage the delivery of programmes associated with the Group Digital Strategy, ensuring that they do not have an adverse impact on patient care and quality.
* Continuous improvement and sustained delivery of high-quality services within the Group.
* Responsible for reporting on programme performance including risk escalation, management and financial control.
* Develop business justifications, business cases and project artefacts in collaboration with Business Unit operational teams.
* Ensure services are continually reviewed to improve quality, effectiveness and safety of care.
* Ensure smooth transition from programme and project delivery into sustained business as usual.
* Line management for the digital programmes team - including service, staff and budget.
* Create an environment for happy, motivated, highly-performing teams.

Job responsibilities
Digital Transformation: Lead programmes team to use tools and techniques of the internet era to understand user needs and implement solutions that meet expectations. Support the management of prioritisation process for digital transformation deliverables across the Group.
Project Assurance: Manage programme milestone delivery, interdependency of deliverables, risks and issues. Ensure every project has an appropriately scoped project plan with clear roles and responsibilities.
Partnership Working: Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Digital and Data leaders across the ICS and region.
Communication and Relationships: Establish excellent relationships with Senior members, staff at all levels, external bodies and stakeholders.
Job Requirements
We support distributed and flexible working arrangements, however, there may be a requirement to travel between the Kettering and Northampton Hospital sites and other sites across the Group. Frequent VDU use is required for this post for periods of up to 3 to 4 hours at a time.
Person Specification
Education, Training & Qualifications
* Educated to Masters level or equivalent experience in leading digital transformation programmes.
* Detailed knowledge of the provision of health services.
* Quality improvement methodology qualification e.g. QSIR.
Knowledge & Experience
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Proven experience of managing large complex programmes.
* Experience of working within the NHS.
Skills
* Highly developed decision making and organisation skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
