Background
Ebury Mass Payments is a non-banking financial institution that provides cross-border payments and foreign exchange services. It is a major supplier of payment services for international payroll, usually through aggregator clients like payroll providers, who bring their underlying corporate clients to EMP.
It has enjoyed substantial growth over recent years and is now entering a new phase of business development to address larger customers in its current business markets and to open new sectors that have aggregator-style customers.
To support this objective, EMP will need a new technology solution that can:
1. Provide the key features necessary to open new business vertical markets and address larger organizations in its current verticals.
2. Allow EMP to increase business volumes by an order of magnitude with a similar size of operations team.
3. Sustain the highest levels of customer service for maximum retention.
Implementation
Having completed an RFP and a Proof of Concept with our preferred supplier, EMP has embarked upon the implementation of a future business processing model, covering the core Trading, Cash Management, Payments, and Reconciliation processes, along with integrations with other key services like Commercial, Compliance, Accounts, and Data.
During the implementation project, as well as in the longer term, EMP will need to ensure that the platform capabilities conform to both functional and non-functional requirements. There will be a need to work closely with the platform provider to ensure the final version implemented in production is fit for purpose prior to go-live.
Operations
Once in full production operation, the EMP team will continue to manage the products and services that have been implemented to gain commercial and competitive advantage and open new markets and operational locations.
Product Manager: Payments and Banking
Background
Ebury Mass Payments (EMP) is implementing new systems support for its growing business of International Mass Payments. EMP is partnering with an external vendor, Geniusto, to achieve business growth targets to increase turnover by an order of magnitude without significant growth in operational team size.
Completing the instructed payments in an accurate and timely manner is at the heart of EMP's business model and will be completed through the Geniusto platform.
This is a permanent post that will support the EMP Platform implementation and subsequent operations by taking responsibility for implementing and managing the functionality of EMP’s Payments and Bank Integration processes and systems in line with EMP's business objectives.
Candidate Experience
We are seeking an individual who has worked in a FinTech environment as a Payments product manager and will be part of an established product team at EMP. This person will have hands-on experience using and training users of payment platforms, i.e., the candidate will be able to understand user requirements and make configuration changes on the platform to implement them, including testing and controlled deployment of changes made. They will also be involved in training the Payments team in the best use of systems and maintaining testing, training, and process artifacts.
The candidate will have a thorough understanding of the payments industry, banking infrastructure, and international payment methods through banking partners and scheme access. They will understand how to minimize manual intervention and also to manage failures if and when they occur. Familiarity with foreign exchange trade processes, particularly regular Spot FX trades, along with knowledge of GL postings, cash management, and reconciliation would be ideal.
Working closely with the other product managers, the candidate will be responsible for agreeing on the relevant business processes with the Head of Payment Operations and their effective implementation through the use of the Geniusto platform capabilities. In addition, they will also help with establishing and maintaining good relationships with our banking partners' technical teams as we transform and extend the payment and banking infrastructure worldwide.
The candidate will also be responsible for working with the Business Analyst(s) and QA team to ensure that requirements are understood and test scenarios are accurate and comprehensive. This is a very good opportunity for the candidate to contribute to and learn from a variety of different processes that are part of running and growing a successful business.
