We are offering this part-time (18.5 hrs) permanent post, at the University of Brighton on the Moulsecoomb Campus. This post includes regular evening and weekend work; you may also be required to work at other University of Brighton Libraries on occasion.
Do you possess a professional qualification in Library and Information Studies, or have experience in a Library or equivalent information service environment, and are you looking for an opportunity to develop you career in an academic library? We will consider applicants who have equivalent experience and would be willing to complete the qualification. The University may be able to contribute towards the cost of the course financially through an application process.
You will contribute to the management of information resources, the development and use of technologies in information delivery and communication, the development and delivery of training for students and staff to support university teaching and research activity for the Academic Schools supported by the Aldrich Library.
To succeed in the role, you will have:
1. Demonstrable understanding of print and digital resources and technologies relevant to the post
2. Excellent customer service and IT skills including MS Office,
3. Ability to communicate complex or difficult information using methods appropriate to the situation
4. Ability to plan, prioritise and organise work to achieve objectives on time.
Working pattern for the vacancy: Mon and Tues Full days, Wed AM. Interviews for this post will take place on the 24th of July.
