We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as a Pharmacy Assistant within our Pharmacy Logistics Services, which includes our Homecare services, procurement and OPAT (outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy service), at Ipswich Hospital. You will participate in 7 day working.
You will assist our Supply Team Leader in the maintenance of an efficient and effective Pharmacy stock control and supply system.
As part of the role, you will be able to undertake NVQ Level 2 modules in Pharmacy services. We are committed to provide a supportive environment with opportunities for training and personal development.
For this role you will thrive in a busy and active environment, have good communication skills both on the phone and face to face and will adapt positively to change and be able to be flexible in your working day.
You will need to have the ability to work within a team and on your own.
For this role you will be required to lift and handle potentially heavy boxes and move boxes and other items throughout pharmacy and the hospital including wards, theatres and clinics.
About our Pharmacy Service
To participate in the day-to-day running of the stores area including:
• Accurately inputting stock orders in response to orders via phone, folder or Pharmacy requests onto the computer system and generate ‘picking tickets’
• Accurately and efficiently collect stock and assemble orders from ‘picking tickets’
• Assisting the medicines at Home team with prescription processing when needed.
• Assisting the Medicines at Home Team with the processing of invoices when needed.
• Assisting Procurement with the placing of orders
• Assisting Procurement with the processing of invoices
• Assisting with OPAT queries and prescription dispensing
• Delivering Pharmacy stock including IVs, CDs, boxes and bags, to wards and departments within the Trust and Pharmacy locations as required
