We are looking for an individual with experience in business continuity to assist the council to discharge its Civil Contingencies Act 2004 duties as a Category 1 Responder. You will be involved in:
* Leading on the council's business continuity review and ensuring that our plans reflect International standards and other national and local guidance.
* providing on-going support to our Local Authority Liaison officers and crisis response volunteers
* lead and participate in business continuity exercises across all levels of the council.
* maintaining links with the category 1 and 2 responders such as the police, fire brigade, ambulance service and NHS.
* representing the team at various internal and external meetings
* organising and supporting the Borough Emergency Resilience Forum
* coordinating of the council's response to an incident
* working outside of normal office hours as part of our crisis management response team.
You will regularly be 'on call' to coordinate the council's response to an incident and you must have the ability to attend the scene of an incident or other location in the borough with 60 minutes of call out. Joining the rest of the team in the new Borough Emergency Control Centre (BECC) you will be working across the council with staff in wide ranging roles and will also be working with colleagues from other London boroughs to improve on resilience across London. The role will be mostly office based but does have the opportunity for home working.
