Job Title: Environmental Management Systems Manager
Location: Flexible – Worthing, Falmer, Otterbourne or Chatham (2-3 days a week)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: circa £60,000 depending on skills and experience

Job Overview
We are currently looking for an Environmental Management System Manager who will work closely with Environmental, Risk and Compliance team’s to maintain, develop and improve the corporate Environmental Management System, and retain the ISO 14001 :2015 certification for Southern Water.
1. Provide expert advice and where necessary training to promote continual improvement of environmental performance and the maintenance of 1SO 14001 accreditation.
2. Leading a team of 3 EMS Specialists
3. Develop, implement and promote operating procedures and practices to maintain ISO 14001 accreditation and delivery of Business Plan outcomes.
Develop the internal auditing programme and deliver assurance audits, comprehensive monitoring and reporting of operational risk and sustainability indicators.
4. Champion regulatory compliance and efficiency initiatives.
5. Responsible for relationship management with senior company stakeholders.
6. Main liaison with Southern Waters' ISO 14001 :2015 certification body (BSI). Reporting EMS-related performance to director, board and CEO level.
About You
7. Degree in environmental science or management or equivalent is preferable.
8. Post-graduate professional qualification from relevant body desirable, e.g. lead or internal auditor.
9. Experience of environmental management systems and audit processes.
10. Track record of influencing or implementing environmental performance improvements.
11. Good knowledge of applicable environmental legislation, regulation, monitoring and permits.
12. Excellent analytical, risk assessment, problem solving, prioritisation and time management skills.
13. Previous team leadership experience is desirable.
Package
This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working between our Durrington/Falmer/Otterbourne or Chatham office and home. We are offering a salary circa £60,000 per annum depending on skills and experience as well as other benefits including:
