General Summary: The Solution Architect will provide sales, consultation, concept and/or technical design and engineering support to the account management and acquisitions teams including, but not limited to, creative concept and engineering direction, the creation of technical proposals including cost estimates, proposed hardware, and detailed technical narratives. Create detailed technical and equipment budgets according to company standards to match project requirements, respond timely to requests for bids/proposals, and help any sales efforts to secure job contracts that will contribute to the profitability of the Company. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Provide technical and solution consultation, expertise and support to account management and acquisitions teams Oversee proposal packages & participate in final sales presentations Provide thought leadership and pro-actively prepare and present solutions packages to account management and acquisitions teams to achieve revenue growth Serve as subject matter experts on solution technologies (video walls, “show” control, projection mapping, “wow” experiences as just a few examples) supporting all of Mood in selling these more complicated solutions Provide technical proposals, cost estimates and support documentation in response to detailed RFP packages, accurately and consistent with the requested direction and layout. Perform detailed engineering analysis of RFP packages, identifying errors, omissions, design flaws, and unusual scope. Develop and submit detailed Request for Information (RFI) documents to clarify and resolve issues to eliminate scope gap and minimize risk. Assist in the preparation of all pricing, including labor analysis, equipment pricing, general conditions, direct job expenses, and any cost elements required to complete the formal proposal. Attend pre-bid and post-bid meetings as required to represent the company, gain a detailed understanding of the RFP package, and assure Owner representatives of our ability to perform the work. Interface with the Owner, Architect/Engineer, and any other contractors or subcontractors to provide bid and scope clarification, design assistance, value engineering studies, constructability review, and project schedule analysis. Upon contract award, attend kick-off meeting with Operations project team. Provide detailed technical and financial information to the project team to ensure that they have a detailed understanding of the project contract, scope, technical requirements, budget, and schedule. Establish, develop and nurture relationships with clients, vendors, reps, and manufacturers at the highest levels, increasing Mood:Media ASG's strategic advantage. Ability to work with all members of the Mood family and work through issues together Organizing and prioritizing projects and daily tasks effectively Other duties as assigned Required Travel: If the job requires overnight travel, what percentage of time is spent away from home base? 10- 25% Essential Job Qualifications: Associates Degree from 2 year College or Technical School or equivalent experience experience as described below Equivalent Experience: 10 or more years of experience in AV Engineering and Systems Design, creative design, multiple and varied technologies, decision maker interaction, sales and operations processes. Preferred: formal education in Electrical Engineering, Audio Video Engineering, Communications, Digital Signal Processing, or related fields. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities • Direct field experience designing, engineering and managing the installation of complex audio, video, projection, and control systems. • Formal education in Electrical Engineering, Audio Video Engineering, Communications, Digital Signal Processing, or related fields. • Senior level writing skills including technical writing, salesmanship for project specific scope or qualifications, letter writing, and generation of detailed clarifications and exclusions to define scope boundaries. Must have the ability to prepare complex proposals with minimal supervision. Mastery of the English language. • Proficient in business applications, especially Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and be excellent in math and budgeting. • Exceptional organizational skills. • Must be self-motivated, well organized, and unflustered under pressure; ensuring that the quality of workmanship is of the highest standard. • Must be detail oriented, applying the diligence required to provide accurate pricing and scope definition. • Ability to handle multiple tasks and challenges with efficiency and effectiveness, seeing each task through to completion. • Must be able to understand and adapt to the customer’s expectations. • Minimum 10 years of experience designing large scale A/V design and build projects Preferred certification or licenses: CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, EE, AA, BA, BS, MA, MS
