We are recruiting for an Application Architect who will work with colleagues and customer stakeholders to develop and enhance the application framework, integrating with and utilising the latest technologies to ensure outcomes align with the needs of Customers and Partners alike.
This company is an established provider of process automation software and is a profitable and expanding business. The role is technical with a focus on developer skills and data manipulation, with a customer focused approach to engagement and architectural drawing.
Essential for this role are a knowledge of Software development processes, experience implementing customer focussed application enhancements and integration of web services into third party databases.
Ultimately you will be responsible for the continued expansion of application frameworks within Local Government, Health and Housing markets.
This is a remote-based role suited to someone who is self-motivated and driven.
Essential Prerequisites for the Application Architect position
•The ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills (oral and written)
•Creative, confident and driven, with an eye for detail
•Knowledgeable of a range of business systems and processes across several domains, including being able to successfully navigate an organisations’ roles to establish ownership.
•Demonstrable experience and understanding of a range of web development technologies, including JavaScript, Python, REST/SOAP web services, HTML and CSS.
•Proven use of data technologies including MySQL and SQL Server databases, SQL syntax, ETL techniques and best practice.
•Able to manage several client relationships including the scoping and delivery of complex consultancy projects and services.
•Proven use of data, documentation and databases, web services and other means of accessing third-party systems for integration purposes across several solution domains.
•Proven understanding of how to design, implement and maintain web services, web user interfaces and web-based applications across several solution domains.
•Chartered Engineer and/or Project Management Qualifications - APM, PMI or PRINCE2
Desired Experience and knowledge:
•Experience of some agile methodologies
•Working to an Agile Project Delivery Methodology especially for fixed cost / deliverable customers
•Working knowledge of JavaScript and web design technologies
•Experience of implementation of and/or integration with a range of software solutions
•Working knowledge of the processes involved in software development and delivery of professional services – ITIL
Key responsibilities of the Application Architect:
•Responsible for the framework and application features to deliver the end-to-end technical solutions
•Acts as a conduit between architecture and delivery, technical sales and platform development teams
•Acts as point of contact for technical issues related to the overall solution and design
•Acts as a technical product owner supporting all teams within the initiative
•Identifies, scopes and models business processes, rules, workflow, data and interface requirements and process improvements
•Contributes to the wider development of capability and propositions across the business
•Writes technical specifications including use cases, prototype screen designs, process flow diagrams and testing requirements
•Determines benefits/costs and means of measuring these to support business case
•Manages and provides product-specific support to the Delivery, Software Development and Customer Support teams
•Manages personal and project team utilisation
•Responsible for ease of deployment, implementation and training of the application frameworks including stability, interoperability, portability, security, and scalability of system architecture
