Workshop Engineer required. My client is a leading provider of hire equipment across the country and is looking for a workshop engineer to maintain, service and repair heavy plant in their Tamworth depot. The ideal candidate will have background experience of working with heavy plant, the role will be repairing and servicing heavy plant in the depot such as excavators, rollers, dumpers, telehandlers and roto telehandlers.
Workshop Plant Engineer Job Overview
1. Currently working on heavy plant such as excavators, rollers and dumpers but moving forward the company will only have telehandlers and roto telehandlers in the near future.
2. Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on telehandlers and roto telehandlers.
3. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
4. Perform preventive maintenance to maximize equipment lifespan and reliability.
5. Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities.
6. Adhere to workshop health and safety regulations.
7. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workshop environment.
Workshop Plant Engineer Job Requirements
1. Relevant NVQ Level 2/3 qualifications relating to plant maintenance would be advantageous.
2. Experience in a similar role working on heavy plant.
3. Based within a commutable distance of Tamworth.
4. Strong diagnostic skills.
5. Mechanical and hydraulic knowledge.
6. Experience working on telehandlers and roto telehandlers.
Workshop Plant Engineer Salary & Benefits
1. £40,425-£44,000 salary dependant on experience.
2. 52 ½ hour working week (7:00-18:00).
3. Overtime available.
4. 23 days holiday plus bank holiday.
