1. Processing Patient information and entering information onto our Patient clinical system which is SystmOne
2. Assisting in recalling patients to the Practice for Long Term Condition follow-up clinic appointments
3. Scanning relevant Patient correspondence and letters
4. Filling information electronically into the Patients computer record
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for reviewing new andexisting medical records and patient information, correspondence and post. Theywill summarise and enter this data on the clinical system, to provide theclinical staff with an accurate and easily accessible electronic summary of apatient's medical history
The post holder will ensure that the records comply withlegal, regulatory and ethical requirements, working strictly in accordance withthe Notes Summarising Protocol
Monitoring progress of notes summarising against practicetargets and monitoring patient call and recall systems will form part for therole in addition to basic administration work such as scanning documents, filingand retrieving paperwork and post
This is so much more than trawling through records. Inthis role you will have the opportunity to help people
The doctors and nurses depend heavily on the quality ofthe clinical records to provide much needed information to the patients andother teams across the surgery. To undertake this aspect of the role you mustbe able to read large amounts of clinical information and have an eye fordetail
Full training will be provided for the summarising aspectof the role. However, a strong command of English language and reading abilityis required to be able to thrive in the role

About us
We are a two site GP surgery looking after 17,800 patients and work out of two purpose built modern Medical Centres in Leeds 9 Osmondthorpe and Leeds 15 Crossgates
We have a team of 40 doctors, nurses, receptionists and admin staff working out of the two medical centres so you will be joining a well established and experienced team
There is on site free parking at both sites and there are staff rest areas for lunch and breaks
We also provide a staff uniform and offer free tea, coffee, chilled water and fresh fruit to all members of staff

Ensure that all incoming patient records are collated,tidied, accurately summarised and stored on the patients computerised medicalrecord and relevant information is coded;
Review any electronic transfer of medical records andensure they are accurately recorded and coded as per practice protocol
Follow practice protocols to ensure consistent andefficient processing of patient medical record coding
Code clinical information onto patient computerisedrecord
Deal with any queries or question relating to summarisingand/or coding of medical records both from internal or external sources
Carry out administrative tasks relating to patientrecords, including filing, scanning, sorting and document management

1. Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
