Kettle Meal Solutions (KMS) is based in Flixborough, Scunthorpe and is currently undergoing a period of expansion following the acquisition of new business, resulting in a considerable financial investment in new machinery, people, and processes.

Barrowcliffe's is one of the UK’s most established food processing companies, specializing in providing chilled food products to the retail and food service sectors.
About the Role
You will be responsible for hands-on operational support, working alongside supervision and production operatives in a climate-controlled production environment. This role will ensure:
* Adherence to quality and technical procedures.
* All paperwork is completed to the correct procedures and standards.
* Raw materials are received at the correct quality.
* Customer orders are delivered to customer specifications.
Duties include:
* Carry out Goods In checks and document results, informing management of any out-of-specification material.
* Conduct daily safety compliance checks during production and finished products, reviewing paperwork for accuracy.
* Conduct personal and equipment hygiene checks to ensure compliance.
* Assist in the investigation of customer complaints and raw material/product traces.
* Support the updating of site information boards.
* Complete internal audits against HACCP, GMP, SOPs, and the BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety and Customer Codes of Practice, as well as assist in on-site customer visits and audits.
* Collect necessary material, finished product, or water/ice samples for micro or chemistry analysis, or conduct swabbing of personnel hands and equipment and book in on the online laboratory system.
* Conduct weekly calibrations of scales and probes and maintain records.
* Set up labels for new products and verify labels in production.
* Carry out finished product checks and document results, informing management of any out-of-specification product.
* Assist in corrective actions and control of non-conforming product as appropriate, maintaining the non-conformance and corrective action logs.
* Communicate with suppliers and buyers as required and issue non-conformances as appropriate to suppliers and the buying team.
* Complete system paperwork as requested and generate and update system paperwork.
About You
You will be a team player with a hands-on/“can do” attitude, willing to learn and adapt to new challenges. The successful candidate must be adaptable to a fast-moving and challenging environment. You must be able to work to extremely high standards, follow processes and procedures, and be thorough with all paperwork and documentation.
You will be highly organized, able to multi-task, work to strict deadlines under pressure, and possess an excellent eye for detail. Good IT and communication skills, including a high level of written and spoken English, are essential parts of this role.
Skills and Qualifications
* Previous experience in QA and/or raw materials/chilled produce is desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided.
* Good level of written and spoken English is essential.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and thoroughness with all paperwork and documentation.
* Excellent personal organizational skills.
* A satisfactory level of IT literacy skills is essential.

Working Hours
Full-time – Permanent Contract. 40 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday. You may be required to work different days subject to business needs and holiday cover. Flexible working hours dependent on work requirements and location. Start and finish times will vary between 6:00 am to 8:00 am and 3:00 pm to finish. Two 30-minute unpaid breaks each day.
