Due to expansion in the department, an excellent opportunity is available for a Senior Test and Development Engineer, to play a key role in developing future product ranges and new technologies.
This role will report to the Test and Development Manager and join a highly focused, passionate team, working on exciting new programmes to both maintain and further extend the company's range of industrial products and machines worldwide.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Have ownership and responsibility for completion of Testing and Development activities on new product designs, systems, and components from project creation through to Engineering Sign Off and completion.
2. Machine driving and operation, including benchmarking and liaising with Test Drivers and Group Assessors.
3. Diagnosing machine technical issues and working with different teams to solve problems.
4. Understand the application of machinery and the customer requirements.
5. Problem analysis and proposal of design solutions.
6. Analysis, reporting, and presentation of test results.
7. Design, build, and commissioning of test rigs.
8. Liaise with internal/external customers/departments, as required during projects.
9. Product homologation and legislative conformance.
10. Provide information for Engineering Sign Off records, DVPSOR's and Technical Construction Files.
11. Supervision of XP resource allocated to assist with development tasks and support prototype builds.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Degree/HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
2. Experience in the design/development of heavy vehicles.
3. Good working knowledge of drive-train, hydraulics, and electrical/electronic systems.
4. Enthusiastic attitude, coupled with a sense of urgency and desire to succeed.
5. Good teamwork and communication skills with the ability to influence change.
6. Good working knowledge of data acquisition, processing, and vehicle testing.
7. Strong Microsoft Office skills.
