About the person we support:
We have an outgoing young lady in her 30s who we're supporting to be active by going out on regular walks and perhaps feeding the ducks.
She also loves a pub lunch, music, sensory play and spending time with her family..
She has a learning disability, autism and we're looking for outgoing, highly motivated support workers to assist her to live independently in her own home on a 2 to 1 basis.
You will also need to provide emotional reassurance when experiencing behaviours of distress - full positive behaviour support training is provided but previous experience is essential.
This lady enjoys being out in her car and there will be a Motability car., so a Full UK driving license will be required
What will I be doing?
- You will be supporting them to live their lives how they choose and to achieve their goals.
- With the ladies autism activities have to have a clear middle objective and an end one.
- You'll be supporting by engaging in intensive interaction such as mirroring their actions and body language (Full Training Provided)
- As well as supporting them to get involved in all the activities they enjoy, you'll also be providing support with their personal care, medication, food shopping, and domestic tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry
Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010
Shifts Patterns:
Day Shifts: 7am-10pm, including sleep ins
This includes a combination of weekdays and weekends.
Rotas are provided at least 4 weeks in advance to support a healthy work life balance - something we're very passionate about!
