This role involves conducting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs, including welding and fabricating, in addition to preventative maintenance work on our cement manufacturing equipment to facilitate efficient production processes. Responsibilities: Adhering strictly to Heidelberg Materials health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. Performing preventative maintenance tasks on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, which includes inspections, servicing, and cleaning. Responding swiftly to machinery breakdowns and performing unscheduled repairs, including application of welding and fabrication techniques to minimize downtime. Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults quickly and effectively. Welding and fabricating of equipment to maintain, improve and apply corrective measures to ensure safe running of equipment Installing, testing, and commissioning of equipment, ensuring proper mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic functioning. Communicating with the wider team to optimize maintenance schedules and limit production disruption. Completing maintenance work orders and ensuring proper documentation of work performed and parts used. Assisting in setting up and maintaining machinery within the Cement Plant. Engaging proactively in continuous improvement initiatives, aiming to reduce downtime of machinery and enhance equipment efficiency. Qualifications: Solid knowledge of health and safety regulations and how to work in a safe manner. A recognized qualification in mechanical engineering or a related field, with emphasis on mechanical fitting, hydraulic/pneumatic systems and welding/fabrication. Previous experience in a similar role within the manufacturing sector, with a strong background in hydraulic, pneumatic systems, welding/fabrication, material transport and crushing equipment. Demonstrated ability in mechanical troubleshooting and repair techniques, including welding and fabricating. Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and principles. Willingness to work rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods. Able to withstand varied weather and temperature conditions.
