Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Building Services Electrical Engineer with a leading International multi-disciplinary design consultancy in Central London. They are one of the UK’s Top Employers for 5 years in a row according to Top Employer Institute. Their multi-disciplined team includes MEP (30 strong), Environmental Design & Sustainability, VT, and Architectural Design Lighting. They are involved in high profile and prestigious projects all over the world across a variety of sectors so the role may involve some travel.
Responsibilities:
1. Represent the company in a professional and diligent manner at all times.
2. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, design team, authorities, utilities, and associated organisations.
3. Attend all meetings with clients, project teams, contractors, etc.
4. Undertake and deliver high quality detailed engineering design for electrical building services and power distribution systems, including calculations, analysis, schematics, drawings, diagrams, models, specifications and other documents required.
5. Review and manage projects from inception to post-construction duties.
6. Maintain good knowledge of relevant legislations, standards, regulations, guides, and good practices.
7. Seek, complete and record evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) in accordance with the requirements of the relevant professional institution.
8. Have thorough knowledge of and compliance with procedures and standards.
9. Contribute, or otherwise assist, as required.
10. Support and champion equity, diversity & inclusion (EDI) as a collective workforce responsibility, integrating EDI where relevant into all workstreams.
Qualities and Skills:
Required:
1. Chartered Engineer or Professional Registered working toward CEng in 6 months, with an Electrical Engineering or Building Services Degree with electrical bias, 2:1 or higher.
2. At least 5 years experience in a building design engineering capacity within the UK and internationally.
3. Proven ability to design electrical Building Services systems and demonstrate rationale behind proposals.
4. Experience of being Lead Electrical Engineer for more than one project (construction value >£30M).
5. Required involvement from Concept to Construction.
6. Involved in Construction Administration (snagging, Testing & Commissioning).
7. Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and application of low carbon design.
8. Mentoring and management of junior engineers, sharing technical knowledge and experience.
9. Able to demonstrate ability to undertake the above responsibilities.
10. Legally able to work in the country in which the position is based.
11. Excellent organisational skills.
12. Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information.
13. Self-motivated and able to take responsibility.
14. Able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks.
15. Good interpersonal skills and able to work independently and as part of an effective team.
16. Flexible attitude.
17. Able to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
18. Resilient to cope with conflicting demands, able to prioritise duties and work effectively under pressure.

Desirable:
1. Project Management with good financial acumen.
2. Experience in Education, Hospital, Retail, Airport, Stadia, High-rise Mixed Used Commercial projects delivery.
3. Second Language.
4. Specialism in one or more of the following: Lighting and Daylighting, Vertical Transportation, IT and Communications Infrastructure, Security, Acoustic, High / Medium Voltage, Earthing, Bonding and EMC, Lightning Protection, UPS and Generator, Fire Protection, Building Information Modelling.
5. Proficient in some of the following: Revit, Navisworks, AutoCad, Microstation, Rhino, AGI32, Dialux, Relux, Radiance, Elevate, Amtech, Hevacomp, InDesign, NBS Create / NES Spec, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Project.
