Inspira is a leading employability skills organisation, providing free professional careers advice and guidance to over 32,500 people from Cumbria and Lancashire each year. We're currently looking for a new Employability Advisor to help people get back into work, find sustainable employment, and ultimately change their lives for the better. This role is part of the 'Restart Scheme' which helps long-term unemployed adults (6 months or more) find work in stable and secure environments where they can grow, learn, and thrive. Working one-on-one with participants, you'll be providing tailored employment support to break down barriers, build confidence, and equip people with the skills needed to re-enter the job market. Whether it’s personalised career coaching, retraining for a new sector, or supported job searching, you’ll be there every step of the way. What You’ll Be Doing: Empowering individuals with expert career advice, motivation, and confidence-building strategies Delivering intensive one-to-one support, helping participants identify their strengths and transferable skills Creating tailored action plans to help individuals achieve their employment goals Facilitating engaging group sessions to support job search strategies and skill development Keeping up with the local job market and building relationships with employers to create opportunities Managing your own caseload, ensuring each participant receives ongoing support and guidance Meeting and exceeding targets, making a tangible impact on people's lives About you We're looking for candidates who have: A keen interest in supporting people with their employability skills and helping them secure new, long-term careers. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with service users along with employers and partners Proactive approach to identifying, establishing and maintaining effective working partnerships for the benefit of customers Excellent IT and administration skills. Ability to work to deadlines with good prioritisation and time management skills A good standard of literacy and numeracy (GCSE grade 4 / C or equivalent); Experience of working in the employability sector with a Careers Information Advice and Guidance qualification is also an advantage but not essential.
