Management Information Report Writer – Role Overview
As part of the Information, Data and Analysis (ID&A) Directorate you will be working alongside Government Digital and Data professionals to create and maintain a suite of Power BI reports that support Performance Management of Operational teams as well as meeting other VOA needs.
The Central Management Information (MI) Team is led by a Best Practice Lead and 5 MI Partners, each maintaining our relationship to a specific part of the business. As one of several report writers you will support the team in delivering the following:
Key responsibilities
Assisting with the development of a standard set of MI for use at all levels across the VOA including those required on a regular basis to support internal governance boards.
Providing the MI Partner with a range of MI related support activities for the relevant business or product area, by producing data analysis, ad-hoc reports, production of monthly Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Quarterly Business Review, performance and productivity insights.
Actively engaging and supporting stakeholders across the business to build awareness and understanding of MI reporting enabling future focused discussions through identification and highlighting of trends in MI. Using a continuous improvement mindset, develop new measures and insight and build them into regular MI reporting.
Collaborating with performance teams across the agency, quickly and efficiently producing clear and concise MI in a visual format for stakeholders as required.
Build an awareness of all areas of VOA MI to be able to inform and support the cleansing and prioritisation of reports, in line with our continuous improvement culture.
Supporting the implementation and ongoing development of the Agency Reporting Tool and the delivery of an MI self-service culture across VOA.
Maintain the team Workflow tool, commissioning processes and SharePoint sites to be able to effectively prioritise and plan work across the team as well as manage stakeholder expectations. .
Adhere to governance in place for data sharing including creation of any documentation required in line with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and internal policies.
Management of the team inbox, triaging enquiries and using judgment to take appropriate action or escalating issues as required.
Ensure the Agency’s MI ways of working are as efficient as possible whilst meeting customer needs and that data is accurate, taking action where necessary.
