We manage over €100M in annual Amazon GMV (gross merchandise value) for a growing list of partner brands, in categories that vary from consumer goods like Baby, Beauty & Pet Supplies, to Home, Lawn & Garden, Automotive, Fashion, Electronics & more.
Our brand partnerships range from full-service Amazon account management, advertising only or specific Amazon projects like launch plans for new-to-Amazon brands, or brand content. Our services are wide-ranging – they include product range strategy, channel management, Amazon advertising (PPC) management, brand management (Amazon stores, product content), operational excellence, global marketplace expansion, program management, reporting & troubleshooting.
Role Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Head of Seller Acquisition to lead our business development efforts and spearhead the growth of our client portfolio. In this pivotal role, you will identify, engage, and onboard brands that require strategic and operational support to succeed on Amazon and other global marketplaces. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth, building strategic relationships, and positioning the agency as the go-to partner for marketplace success.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Strategy
1. Develop and execute a comprehensive seller acquisition strategy to drive new business growth across Amazon and other key marketplaces (e.g. B&Q, Tesco, Walmart, TikTok, Boots and Superdrug).
2. Identify and target prospective brands, with the ideal client profile (ICP) being 1.5mill+ GMV on marketplaces and underperforming enterprise & challenger brands seeking support to reach their full potential.
3. Build a pipeline of high-quality leads and manage the end-to-end sales cycle, from outreach to onboarding.
Market Research & Analysis
1. Stay ahead of trends in the e-commerce and marketplace industry to identify opportunities for client acquisition.
2. Analyse competitor activities and market shifts to refine acquisition strategies.
3. Evaluate potential clients’ marketplace performance to identify pain points and opportunities for value creation.
4. Be a thought leader in our industry for specific categories.
Relationship Building & Networking
1. Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers within targeted brands.
2. Represent the agency at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to build awareness and generate leads.
3. Speak at industry events around e-commerce and agency topics to build lead generation.
4. Partner with internal teams (e.g., marketing, strategy, and operations) to create tailored pitches and proposals.
Leadership & Team Development
1. Lead and mentor a growing business development team, setting KPIs and ensuring they meet acquisition goals.
2. Collaborate cross-functionally to develop onboarding processes and ensure smooth transitions for new clients.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
1. Develop and manage metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of acquisition efforts.
2. Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership on client acquisition progress, pipeline health, and market feedback.
Skills and Qualifications
1. Proven track record in business development, sales, or seller acquisition, preferably within an e-commerce, Amazon, or marketplace-focused agency.
2. Deep understanding of Amazon’s Seller Central, Vendor Central, and marketplace operations.
3. Strong network within the e-commerce or consumer goods space, with the ability to identify and connect with decision-makers.
4. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate the value of services to diverse stakeholders.
5. Analytical mindset with the ability to assess data and translate it into actionable insights.
6. Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and a focus on results.
7. Experience working with global marketplaces such as Walmart, eBay, and diy.com, & regional platforms like Bol, CDiscount & Zalando.
8. Familiarity with tools and Amazon analytics software.
9. Leadership experience, including hiring, mentoring, and managing teams.
