Contract: Casual Salary: HC06 £14.13 - £16.10 per hour Hours: 0 hour contract Location: Hereford Closing Date: 26/03/2025 6 Positions available We are looking to recruit a number of Ceremony Officers to work as part of our busy and high-profile Registration Services Team, to conduct and register a of range of statutory and non-statutory ceremonies. The duties will include conducting and registering marriages and civil partnerships at our approved venues situated across the County, in The Oak Room within the Town Hall and our newest venue, The Willow Room. In addition to which, you may be required to attend one of the local Registered Buildings. It is essential therefore, that you have unrestricted access to a car. The majority of our ceremonies will be over the busy Summer months and the successful candidates will need to be available to work during the week, at weekends and on Bank Holidays. Working patterns are not predictable and may involve working at short notice, so flexibility is essential. We are seeking candidates with excellent communication and public speaking skills. You should have a keen eye for detail and be committed to maintaining high standards in registration practices and customer excellence. Due to the nature of the role you will need to be proactive and solution focused. Although, we value transferable skills and experiences, full training will be provided. Skills and Experience Proven experience in a customer-facing role and ability to interact with the public. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability and confidence to project voice to a large audience. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and reliability. Confident to work in a fast-paced environment and react quickly to changes in both legislation and working practices. Able to work effectively with a range of external stakeholders to deliver the best outcome for the customer. Strong organisational and administrative skills, including experience with data entry and managing records. Ability to handle sensitive situations tactfully and professionally. Experience of using IT systems to manage and update records accurately.
