Interviews are expected to be held on 25 February.
This role will be based on the university campus. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Are you an ambitious, results-driven professional ready to take your career to the next level? Do you have a passion for sales and a proven ability to generate leads and build meaningful relationships with key stakeholders?
The University of Leeds Conferences & Events team is responsible for the sale, planning, and delivery of a wide range of events, including venue hire, accommodation, catering, and conference management services. With a diverse portfolio of venues that host meetings, conferences (including residential), exhibitions, award ceremonies, receptions, and dinners, the team has seen impressive growth in recent years. As we continue to expand, especially with the launch of a new city centre venue in Spring 2023, we are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Executive to join our team.
In this role, you will work closely with the Business Development Manager to drive proactive sales, from researching and identifying potential leads to representing the University at events across the UK. You will play a key role in building strong relationships with clients and expanding our client base, contributing to the continued growth of our service.
With proven experience in a commercial sales environment, you will have a solid understanding of the events industry, particularly within MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and a strong awareness of local market trends. Your enthusiasm for the events sector will be matched by a can-do attitude and a proactive drive to generate sales and meet targets. You will excel at building and nurturing relationships with clients, with a keen attention to detail in every aspect of your work. As a collaborative team player, you will communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, contributing to the team’s ongoing success and growth.
What We Offer In Return:
