Multi-Skilled Service Engineer Location: Dungannon, Northern Ireland (with occasional travel as required) Salary: Competitive hourly rate As we continue to expand, we are seeking a talented Multi-Skilled Service Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to our commitment to quality, innovation, and customer support. We are a leading provider of fully automatic balers for the recycling industry and specialists in refurbishing and upgrading recycling balers, as well as managing full turnkey installations. Comprehensive aftersales support is a core part of our service offering. Role Overview: As a Multi-Skilled Service Engineer, you will work across a range of equipment, including REP-TEC balers and other recycling machinery. This is a varied role involving mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical work. Around 80% of your time will be based at our Dungannon facility, focused on machine assembly, refurbishment, and servicing preparation. The remainder will involve travel to customer sites for servicing, breakdown response, and operator support. A strong support network is in place; however, you must be confident working independently, demonstrating strong fault-finding skills and a self-sufficient approach to diagnosing and resolving technical issues. You will also work on the refurbishment of non-REP-TEC machines, operating on similar hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical principles. Key Responsibilities: Carry out mechanical repairs and servicing of REP-TEC and other recycling machines, both in-house and on-site. Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems efficiently and effectively. Assist with basic electrical fault diagnosis and repairs. Assemble new machines at our manufacturing facility. Refurbish large recycling balers to a high resale standard. Support routine servicing and occasional breakdown response at customer sites. Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics to assist in fault diagnosis and repair. Complete service reports and documentation accurately and promptly. Maintain high standards of workmanship, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and professionally. What Were Looking For: Experience: Proven background in mechanical repairs, hydraulic systems, and ideally some exposure to electrical systems. Skills: Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities. Work Ethic: Hands-on approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Flexibility: Willingness to travel occasionally and adapt to different working environments. Qualifications: Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds) are beneficial but not essential. Technical Literacy: Ability to read and understand both hydraulic and electrical schematics. Other: Full UK Driving Licence is essential. What We Offer: Competitive hourly rate with overtime opportunities. All necessary tools and equipment provided. Comprehensive training on REP-TEC machines, ensuring your professional growth and confidence in the role. A dynamic and supportive working environment within an industry-leading company. Opportunities to work on a variety of tasks, from machine assembly to customer support. Clear pathways for progression and career development as part of a growing team. If you're a skilled engineer with a strong background in mechanical repairs and hydraulics and want to work for a company that values innovation, quality, and customer service, we would love to hear from you!
