About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an M3 Senior Commercial Manager within the General Merchandise Business Unit.
How will you contribute?
1. This is a senior role reporting into the Finance Director - General Merchandise.
2. Budget responsibility for customer accounts c.£160m annual revenue.
3. Day to day financial control for open book customers.
4. Financial reporting to support the FD with sector reporting including monthly reporting and budget consolidation.
5. Working closely with the FD to drive Wincanton contribution through operational performance and a culture of continuous improvement.
6. Develop strong relationships with the customers - both operationally and within the finance function.
7. Complete new business bids assessing the balance of risk and reward in each opportunity.
8. Support contractual negotiations for renewals and new business.
9. Work alongside non-financial managers to develop strong commercial awareness and an understanding of the budget and flex mechanisms.
10. Develop budget and flex mechanisms to drive Wincanton performance and an enhanced understanding of the operation cost drivers.
11. Lead, develop and motivate the finance teams.
12. Embed meaningful management information reporting.
13. Ensure customer and Wincanton weekly and period reporting is on time and accurate.
14. Reporting and monitoring of key performance indicators.
15. Ensure Wincanton financial controls are in place and adhered to, including robust balance sheet control.
What will you bring?
1. A Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA).
2. Able to travel within the UK to support our various sites.
3. Demonstrate drive, energy and a commitment to the continuous improvement of overall contract performance.
4. Be proactive, inquisitive with a passion for challenging teams to drive performance.
5. Be able to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards.
6. Must be flexible and respond positively and accurately to internal and external customer requests.
7. Excellent customer relationship skills with the ability to develop good working relationships at all levels.
8. Have excellent PC skills and be able to understand and harness IT and systems to benefit the operation.
9. Be able to demonstrate previous relevant experience.
