Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and demonstrate exceptional knowledge of anatomy. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients undergoing surgical procedures. As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, you will collaborate closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
1. Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available.
2. Assist in the administration of anaesthesia and monitor patients' vital signs throughout the surgical process.
3. Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgery, ensuring comfort and safety at all times.
4. Collaborate with the surgical team to implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
5. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation related to surgical procedures and post-operative care.
6. Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment within the operating room.
7. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in surgical nursing.
Experience
1. A valid nursing qualification with current registration as a Registered Nurse.
2. Previous experience in an operating room setting is highly desirable.
3. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to surgical procedures.
4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
5. A compassionate approach to patient care, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards patients' needs.
