We are currently working with a lovely SEN Secondary School in Basingstoke. We are looking for a pro-active and personable individual to support KS3 and KS4 classes who cater for pupils with SEN needs. The school’s focus is providing a nurturing environment that enables the pupils to engage successfully in all aspects of learning.
Role of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Supporting the class Teacher (4-8 pupils per class)
* Supporting with outdoor day trips and activity days
* Embrace all aspects of the school’s visions and core values
* Working with pupils with ASC, complex needs, and challenging behaviours
* Full-time 8:30am to 3:30pm
* 1:1 and small group work ensuring pupils stay on track with the curriculum
The ideal candidate will:
* Have lots of patience, be proactive and resilient! - this role can be challenging, but it is very rewarding!
* Experience working within a SEN school (not essential)
* A strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with pupils
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Have the right to work in the UK.
* Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
* Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
