An exciting opportunity has come up for the Adult Community Nursing Service for Band 6 Tissue Viability Nurse to work across the Richmond area.
Main duties of the job
To provide high quality, skilled nursing care and to assist the Tissue Viability Team Manager in the ongoing planning, implementation, and evaluation of the holistic needs of the patient/client, family, and/or carer. This is a clinic-based role.
Deliver high quality nursing care to housebound patients with complex needs to enable them to remain in their own homes. Working closely with specialist nurses, allied health and social care professionals to meet the needs of the patients without unnecessary attendance in A&E or being admitted to hospital.
This will involve working independently but as part of the Tissue Viability Nursing Team covering a particular geographical area. This will include first assessments and reviews, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of individual programmes of care. Candidates will be expected to be flexible to support the corporate approach to patient care as and when required.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Level 1 Registered Nurse with valid registration with the NMC (RN1, RNA)
* Post registration accredited course in Tissue Viability wound management
* Teaching and Assessing 998 or equivalent
Experience
* Experience in Tissue Viability, wound management, compression bandaging, and Doppler assessments
* Experience of working in the community health care setting
* Supervision of junior staff
Skills and abilities
* Good communication skills both verbal and written
* Demonstrates high standards of infection prevention and control
* Confident and ability to establish rapport with team, clients, and other agencies
* Computer literacy and keyboard skills
* Practice with the NMC Code of Professional Practice
* Demonstrates leadership and the ability to empower staff through clinical teaching
* Ability to work without direct supervision
* Access to a motor vehicle for use at work and UK driving license
Knowledge
* Knowledge of wound management
* Knowledge of National Service Framework for Older People and other NSF's
* Evidence of further professional development in the specialty (CPD TV)
* Awareness of adult and child safeguarding
* Knowledge of conducting clinical audit
Personal
* Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team
