Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for 3 Band 5 Staff Nurses to work as part of the Neonatal Service on a 1 year fixed term contract to cover maternity leave and a permanent contract. The post is currently situated at Pilgrim Hospital but the successful candidate may be required to work at Lincoln County Hospital as needed.
Staff will be required to work on an internal rotation basis, including weekends and Bank Holidays and be flexible to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job
Neonatal Services are provided at both Lincoln county & Pilgrim hospital. The unit at Lincoln has a 15 cot capacity, providing intensive, high dependency & special care to babies from both Lincolnshire & surrounding counties.
Pilgrim Hospital is a modern Special Care Unit, with a 12 cot capacity, including 8 Special Care & 4 Transitional Care cots. Transitional Care is located on the unit, short term intensive care & stabilisation prior to transfer is provided. Both work cohesively, in adherence with the care pathways. There is also a Neonatal Outreach Service.
The service is continuing to develop & is part of the East Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network & currently works towards Bliss & BFI Accreditation & work in close liaison with the Maternity Transformation Programme as part of the Better Births implementation.

Qualifications
* Current First Level Registered Nurse/RSCN/RN Child Branch
* NMC registered
* Committed to on-going personal development
* Willing to undertake a post registration course in neonatal nursing to become qualified in speciality (QIS)
* Evidence of recent professional development.
Previous Experience
* Nursing experience within a neonatal unit.
Skills
* Good written and oral communication skills when liaising with other colleagues, patients, families, carers and the multi-disciplinary team.
* Able to work autonomously using own initiative and to work as part of a team
* Ability to evidence/demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with the Trust framework
* A keen interest in Neonatal Nursing
* Ability to adapt to change
