About the Business
An opportunity to be a Risk & Controls Analyst for a global services business based in Solihull, who have strong family values and really look after their employees.
Main Duties:
As a Risk & Controls Analyst, your main duties include:
1. Review balance sheet control accounts and balance sheet reporting.
2. Actively contribute to creating the Annual Assurance Plan by identifying focus areas and introducing new ideas and methods.
3. Monitor variances in balance sheet accounts and identify areas requiring detailed reviews or further investigation.
4. Monitor compliance requirements across all divisions within the group, create compliance guidance, and enhance reporting requirements to improve transparency around compliance activities.
5. Take ownership of detailed time management and project planning for smaller projects, aligning with the annual plan and supporting larger, more complex projects.
6. Establish and maintain relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
7. Assist with the Group enterprise risk process.
8. Maintain and coordinate updates of CCO Risk Assessments.
9. Introduce and maintain Risk Control Frameworks, providing support to divisional finance teams as needed.
10. Assess and monitor key accounting processes and controls across the group.
11. Implement best practices for documenting accounting processes and controls across the group.
12. Produce monthly assurance reports and present quarterly updates to the CFO/Director of Finance.
13. Ensure that group corporate policies are maintained, updated, and communicated appropriately.
14. Coordinate periodic updates of the Head Office data map and related Head Office GDPR policies.
15. Support the embedding and maintenance of the Financial Control Framework within the new risk management system.
16. Assist in the rollout of the new risk management tool.
17. Conduct risk assessments and policy rollouts in line with legislative changes.
Location / Office / Culture
The role is in a newly renovated office based in Solihull. It is hybrid working, with 3 days in the office.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Technical Skills: Knowledge in controls and risk management, or substantial accounting experience in financial or management accounts functions.
2. Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and confident in learning and utilizing new systems.
