What you will do:
• Assist in the development of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans, ensuring they align with Metro Bank’s strategic goals
• Analyse financial performance against key metrics, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities. Provide actionable insights to senior management to drive improvements in performance
• Develop financial models to assess the impact of various strategic initiatives, market conditions, and other factors on the bank’s financial performance
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the robustness of financial controls
• Understand investment and transaction appraisal approaches (NPV, payback, dependencies)
• Identify ways to enhance FP&A processes, tools, and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness in financial planning and analysis activities
• Collaborate with stakeholders by engaging and challenging the business to make good decisions on income, costs and capital, supported by regular, detailed and accurate P&L reporting
• Support analysis on product, channel and customer returns
• Input into board and Exco papers and investor packs which drive business strategy

What you will need:
• Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
• Experience managing large data sets and financial modelling
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite; particularly, Excel and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of Banking, Expense Management and Accounting Standards
• Understand Monthly Reporting Cycles
• Proactive behaviours, combined with an excellent attention to detail
• Ideally you will be working towards a professional Accountant Qualification ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
