The new role of Museum Development Manager is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is passionate about museum collections, with ambitions to lead and embed positive change within our beautiful heritage site.
The successful candidate will reinvigorate and support the experienced team at Warrington Museum and Art Gallery. You will be instrumental in driving our aspirational vision and sense of purpose within all areas of work, programmes and collections.
This is a wide-ranging, challenging and rewarding role which includes management responsibilities for the Warrington Museum and Art Gallery building, Visitor Services and both the Collections and Archives teams.
We are looking for someone who is energetic, resilient and determined, who can build relationships with stakeholders and funders, adopt a distinctive approach to each of our valued services and help us to tell the story of our collections to ensure they meet their full potential.
Job Requirements:
* A passion for heritage and museums
* A relevant professional qualification in museum studies and or heritage management
* A minimum of 3- 4 years Relevant experience working in heritage management and development
* Experience of budget management
* Strong leadership skills and experience of leading an experienced and knowledgeable team
* Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage timelines
* Experience of developing strategies and funding applications
* Experience of working effectively in a team and with internal and external partners to influence decisions
* Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and funders which generates confidence and collaborative working
* Ability to understand and demonstrate commitment to equality and diversity
Job Responsibilities:
* To strategically lead Warrington Museum and Art Gallery on a fixed term 2-year basis and support the Cultural Director and wider Management Team on the delivery of Culture Warrington's Business Plan.
* To also oversee the operational management of Warrington Museum and Art Gallery by providing direct line management for the team who will lead on delivery of these functional specialisms.
* Work closely with the Management Team and Cultural Team, to develop and implement a Forward Plan for Warrington Museum and Art Gallery, including an audience development plan.
* Work closely with Trustees and key stakeholders to identify fundraising and development opportunities and subsequently complete funding applications.
