This is a fantastic opportunity to work in the paint facility within the Bath factory, supporting the wider team in delivering high-quality work.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be part of a team of paint operators representing Rotork’s operations department. Key responsibilities for this role include:
1. Ensuring Paint, Blast, Pre Wash, and Quality standards are maintained.
2. Maintaining paint shop processes and procedures, including EPA requirements.
3. Adhering to all Health and Safety requirements at all times.
4. Leading continuous improvements, including lean and 5S procedures.
5. Ensuring availability and maintenance of equipment and tooling.
6. Assisting the Team Leader with paint shop performance and Key Performance Indicators.
7. Completing all relevant paperwork in a timely manner.
8. Maintaining high standards of housekeeping.
9. Requisitioning paint and materials for the shop floor.
10. Responding timely to inspection reports.
11. Highlighting any abnormalities to the team leader.
12. Carrying out daily tasks related to the paint process.
13. Assisting in other areas if trained to do so.
This role would suit a person who can communicate concisely, work as part of a team, and is enthusiastic about learning new skills.
Qualifications
* City and Guilds Apprenticeship (or equivalent) in Paint Spraying.
* City and Guilds Apprenticeship (or equivalent) in Shot blasting.
* NACE or ICORR level 1, 2, or 3 would be advantageous.
* I.O.S.H. Qualification in Risk Assessing (desirable).
* Substantial experience in paint spraying and shot blasting in an automated paint plant.
* Consistent proven application to related tasks with a strong positive attitude.
* Understanding of policies and procedures required to operate safely within a paint plant environment.
* Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and 5S techniques.
* Awareness of Health and Safety, Fire, and Environmental Policies.
Core Competencies:
* Competent skills in the use of all types of spray equipment and shot blasting.
* Understanding of paint methods and processes.
* Competent understanding of paint products and systems.
* Understanding of planning methods and skills.
