Robert Walters is looking for an Interim Financial Accountant with a strong background in risk and controls to join our client based in Warwick on a hybrid basis. This role offers an excellent platform for career growth, with the successful candidate playing a pivotal role in shaping the financial risk landscape of the organisation. The successful candidate will have Sarbanes-Oxley experience as well as a strong background in financial accounting and internal audit.
What you'll do:
* Provide financial risk and control SME support to the business
* Support the delivery of the annual 2nd line assurance plan
* Drive the risk and controls maturity programme
* Assist in developing a strong risk management culture within the business
* Perform detailed controls testing and process reviews
* Deliver financial scoping activities for Gas Transmission & Metering
* Facilitate risk-based discussions to help identify, assess, record, and manage risks and controls
* Perform regular risk assessments and support horizon scanning
* Support the remediation of control weaknesses/deficiencies or non-compliances
What you bring:
* Strong understanding of Finance processes, risks, and financial controls
* Experience with Accounting/Financial Scoping and auditing
* Understanding or experience of Enterprise Risk Management
* Knowledge or experience of regulatory or operational risk or wider internal risk and control frameworks
* Proficient use of business systems and analytical tools (Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Understanding of SAP & other financial systems
