Safety & Ergonomics Advisor
A leading automotive manufacturer requires an experienced health and safety professional to assist with the implementation and development of good health, safety, and welfare standards for the workforce and to meet all best practices and legal obligations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Implementation of planned health and safety strategies and provide competent health and safety advice, including technical and operational expertise to internal customers.
2. Interpret workplace activities in relation to compliance with health and safety legislation.
3. Delivery of specified health and safety strategies and targets through management and maintain site safety plan.
4. Conduct annual internal health and safety audit programme and ensure working practices are effective; implement and complete an audit action plan.
5. Arrange and/or deliver agreed health and safety training, maintaining 45001 standards.
6. Ensure safety delivery matches the requirements of the agreed business Service Level Agreements and meets any set Key Performance Indicators.
7. Conduct workplace safety inspections at all levels and ensure results are acted upon.
8. Advise all levels throughout the business regarding the implementation and control of health and safety arrangements to mitigate the risk of injury and ill health within the workplace.
9. Consult, advise, and educate management on the risks associated with event management and the need to implement processes to minimize risks to the business.
10. Maintain local documentation across the business for evidence of health and safety compliance.
11. Support and get involved with health and safety projects when required.
Skills & Experience:
1. General Certificate in Health and Safety Management or equivalent - preference for NEBOSH Diploma.
2. OHSAS 45001 Lead Internal Auditor.
3. Membership of a professional body (e.g., IOSH).
4. 2+ years of experience in safety management.
5. Maintain CPD Programme.
6. Implementation and maintenance of a safety management system.
7. Effective negotiation skills.
8. Good written and verbal communication skills.
9. PC literate: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
10. Hold a valid full driving license.
