Apprentice setter in the Forging section of a busy integrated manufacturing facility. The Apprentice will be taught all aspects of the process including tool design and selection, machine operating procedures and its maintenance requirements.
A normal day would include:
1. Read and interpret drawings to ensure accurate production and operational requirements.
2. Measure and inspect machined components to ensure conformance to product specifications.
3. Fabricating and constructing metal components.
4. Understand Health and Safety procedures and apply to their working environment.
5. Learn how to use measuring tools (electronic and manual) to take precise measurements, using both imperial and metric measurements.
6. Select appropriate tools and settings for a given task.
7. Plan proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
8. Maintain a safe and clean workstation.
9. Complete regular maintenance on machinery.
10. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed, eventually working independently and part of the Garton team.

How you will be supported:
Structured job training on the various tasks outlined in the vacancy description. Mentored by the Section Leader and other Business Managers as required. Full training and support will be provided by The Growth Company in addition to the training received on site, to help you achieve your Apprenticeship and reach your full potential in your role.

What you should have to apply:
