We are looking for a skilled Manufacturing Applications Project Engineer to join our client's team. This is a brand-new role within the business, which makes it a great opportunity to make the role your own. The thing to bear in mind is that with any new role, there is likely to be limited support with any job-specific skills gaps so you will need to be quietly confident in your own capabilities as a capable and forward-thinking project engineer.
The role involves supporting the Plant Manager in implementing and optimising new technologies, equipment, and software.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support: Provide engineering and application support during manufacturing
New Product Introduction: Assist in launching new products
Project Leadership: Lead improvements in manufacturing projects, including software systems, CAD/CAM, and quality programming
Inspection Management: Maintain inspection equipment and ensure daily production inspection requirements are met
Documentation: Apply new technologies to quality control documentation, including inspection reports and certificates of conformity, ISIR’s, PPAP reporting etc.
Decision Making: Make decisions regarding re-work and scrap in collaboration with senior managers.
Customer Complaints: Address non-conformance reports related to customer complaints and quality control issues
Quality equipment programming to maximise coverage and usage of inspection equipment What We’re Looking For:
Technical Skills: Proficiency in CMM/Quality Equipment Programming (Keyence, Mitutoyo MCOSMOS, Faro preferred) and CAD skills (AutoDesk Fusion preferred).
Knowledge of HighQA Quality software
Experience: Previous experience in an engineering/manufacturing role, project delivery, and quality management.
Education: Engineering qualification or relevant engineering/manufacturing experience
Well-versed in modern engineering and manufacturing principles and digital technologies
Ability to successfully deliver change by leadership, best practice and leading by example
Attributes: Responsible, organised, and detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a genuine desire to keep learning and getting ahead of the curve What you get in return:
