Brainkind The Chantry has an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join their dedicated team of healthcare professionals. You will provide an occupational therapy service by assessing, implementing and evaluating programmes of person-centred care as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
About the role:
1. Responsible for assessment of service user needs and to develop an appropriate person centred treatment programme to meet individual needs.
2. To promote choice in all aspects of clinical practice reviewing and making suggestions to enhance the service user experience and enabling concerns and complaints to be raised freely by service users and their representatives.
3. To liaise and communicate with other health and social care professionals and volunteers in the planning and delivery of occupational therapy.
4. To ensure appropriate provision and maintenance of equipment within available resources.
5. To ensure that up to date written and electronic records are maintained in accordance with Professional and Charity standards, and that sensitive information is held securely.
6. Responsible to share knowledge and expertise with other staff through formal and informal teaching.
7. Facilitating the safe and smooth running of the Service, the post holder is expected to maintain a safe working environment, maintain service user confidentiality, and occasionally take on reasonable additional tasks.
About you:
1. Diploma / BSC (Hons) in Occupational Therapy.
2. Current and valid Registration with Health & Care Professions Council.
3. Evidence of Continued Professional Development.
4. Knowledge and application of OT assessments and interventions using clinical reasoning.
5. An ability to work autonomously and to set own and support others’ priorities.
6. An ability to confidently assess and manage risk in relation to occupational performance.
7. An ability to organise, co-ordinate and respond efficiently to complex information.
8. Competent IT skills.
9. Knowledge of relevant legislation and its impact on current practice.
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
11. Ability to build effective working relationships.
12. Desirable experience of working in a relevant setting, which can include practice placements.
