We are recruiting for a Senior HSS Systems Advisor to support the HSS (Health, Safety, Security) Director and wider HSS Teams in ensuring that the highest standard of health & safety and security management is always maintained, working closely with all relevant parties to ensure compliance. The post holder will be critical in ensuring management systems engagement including, evaluating, and determining business/compliance and HSS evaluation. This role will require engaging with multifunctional teams across all levels of the business. This role will also include supporting the organisational response to the most serious of incidents (including historical) including linked to third parties or as required. The role will also require leading HSS management systems including DPW GHSE platforms and others.
The role will require travel to P&O Ferries ports and vessels.
About the role:
The role will provide assurance to each business that HSS systems operations are being conducted as required and associated risks managed to acceptable levels. The post holder will ensure that risks are clearly communicated and feature on business risk registers as required.
Work in partnership to:
* Deliver and maintain the HSS systems including leading DPW, security & ISO systems.
* Engage with teams to advise on, monitor, assess, manage, and communicate the HSSE activities on HSS systems as required.
* Facilitate and ensure that HSSE is an integral part of contracts and contractor management operations. Complete and review associated assessments of 3rd party operation requests as per system needs, deferring all complex concerns to Senior HSS staff as required (3rd Party HSS Manager).
* Manage and oversee Arcus including vetting of all new vendors.
* Educate, advise, audit, and develop teams to ensure compliance with Group HSSE requirements.
* Aid in HSSE performance assessment including regulatory and stakeholder compliance.
* Provide administration of HSS activities such as weekly reports, KPIs, Dashboard, promotional activities, and online training in safety hub.
* Manage SharePoint for Fleet & Shoreside IMS.
Other such responsibilities and activities as deemed necessary from time to time by the HSS Director.
The person:
* Minimally 3+ years’ credible experience in a HSE role, preferably management involving multiple contracts/customers or locations.
* Experience investigating incidents, preferably with formal training.
* Educated to Level 6 in Safety Professional Exams or degree level (or equivalent in work experience) in HSSE/Engineering, plus NEBOSH Certificate or similar in H&S or Environmental.
* Grad or higher membership of IOSH.
