Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Surfacing Supervisor to oversee and coordinate all aspects of surfacing operations. The successful candidate will ensure high-quality delivery, adherence to safety standards, and efficient use of resources, working closely with teams to meet project deadlines and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
* Plan, schedule, and supervise surfacing activities, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
* Oversee site operations, including preparation, laying, and finishing of surfaces.
* Monitor daily progress to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Health & Safety Compliance:
* Enforce compliance with all health and safety regulations on-site.
* Conduct regular safety checks and toolbox talks to ensure team awareness of risks and best practices.
* Address and report any incidents or near-misses promptly.
Team Coordination:
* Lead and motivate site teams, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration.
* Provide on-site training or guidance as necessary to improve skills and efficiency.
* Manage and allocate resources, including labour, materials, and equipment.
Quality Assurance:
* Ensure all work meets client specifications, industry standards, and project requirements.
* Conduct regular inspections to maintain quality and identify areas for improvement.
* Liaise with clients to address concerns and provide progress updates.
Administration and Reporting:
* Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including work completed, resources used, and any issues encountered.
* Prepare and submit progress reports to senior management.
* Assist in project planning and provide input for future job estimations.
Person Specification:
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven experience in road surfacing or road construction.
* Previous supervisory experience is essential.
* Familiarity with plant and machinery used in operations.
* Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
Skills:
* Strong leadership and team management abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Good organizational and time-management skills.

Special Requirements:
* Full UK driving license.
