Reporting directly to the Electrical Production Manager, the Electrical Supervisor is responsible for the SQCDP (safety, quality, cost, delivery, people) of their allocated area of responsibility. Responsible for the management of a number of team leaders that will support the supervisor to achieve all key milestones and KPI's. The Electrical Supervisor shall provide leadership to the team and support team leaders in coordinating workloads, providing support, monitoring issues, and ensuring consistent quality standards are maintained whilst fostering a safe working culture. The key responsibilities of the role are as follows:
1. Adherence to project schedules and key delivery milestones.
2. Adherence to allocated project budgets.
3. Control of all technical documentation within the production environment.
4. Leading production meetings with key internal stakeholders.
5. Working with the planning department to maintain delivery targets.
6. Supporting the Electrical Production Manager in conducting interviews as required.
7. Promoting a safe working environment by delivering safety coaching conversations, reporting accidents, performing root cause analyses and implementation of preventative actions.
8. Ensuring full adherence to 5S practices.
9. Ensuring all local policies and procedures are adhered to.
10. Building a relationship with the team based on mutual trust; keeping commitments and promises.
11. Willingly delegating tasks giving clear instructions; ensuring the team is clear on their responsibilities.
12. Encouraging others to come up with ideas and providing support even when not successful; learning from successes and failures.
13. Actively supporting and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Tasks:
1. Supporting the Electrical Production Manager to actively ensure all work is approached consistently across all projects.
2. Being the first point of contact for queries and working with the Qualified Supervisor and Electrical Duty Holder to ensure compliance.
3. Managing time and attendance issues and approving holiday and overtime in line with company policy, whilst ensuring that all business milestones and KPI's are maintained.
4. Day-to-day management of team leaders within the assigned project team.
5. Overseeing and ensuring accurate completion of build documentation.
6. Liaising with the Design department to ensure the resolution of technical issues whilst ensuring any design change is embodied in accordance with internal change management processes.
7. Supporting the planning department with the configuration of production BoMs, development of work instructions and definition of component condition of supply.
8. Leading SQCDP level 2 meetings and escalating issues to the responsible Production Manager as appropriate.
9. Delivering flow downs/team briefs.
10. Responding to inspection reports to ensure timely resolution to issues/defects identified on the product.
11. Conducting appraisals/PDRs in line with BMS processes.
12. Supporting DFMEA reviews to identify opportunities to optimize the design for manufacture.
13. Proactive leadership style with the ability to use initiative and work independently and as part of a team.
14. Interacting with all members of the team and possible customer interface with reporting up and down the chain.
15. Understanding own responsibilities. Clarifying roles and task expectations for team members, spending one-to-one time with team members and the team to provide clarity.

Technical Competencies:
1. Expertise in Electrical processes and techniques.
2. Understanding of Production methods and processes.
3. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and associated design data.

5. IT skills i.e. Word, Excel and MRP & Microsoft Projects.
6. Management Skills and ability to communicate and lead an individual or team.
7. Identifying the root cause of a problem within their remit and the possible solutions; recognizing similarities in patterns or data.
8. Making clear and thought-through day-to-day decisions within own remit promptly without seeking constant approval.
Education:
1. Qualification in BS7671 17th/18th edition Requirements for Electrical Installations.
2. City and Guilds Apprenticeship or equivalent in Electrical.
Desirable:
1. IOSH Managing Safely certification is preferable; however, training could be provided.
2. NVQ Level 3 or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
3. City & Guilds 2365 Level 2/3 Diploma in Electrical Installations (Building & Structures, or equivalent electrical qualification).
Experience:
1. Understanding and competence in planning methods and skills.
2. Experience of leading a team, including team leaders.
