We are now looking for an IP Administrator to join our head office in Manchester on a permanent, full-time basis, working 35 hours a week.

The Role
As an IP Administrator, you will provide administrative support to our patent and trade mark attorneys.
Focusing on completing tasks to a high standard within set deadlines, you will:
1. Prepare, file and process new patent, trade mark and design applications
2. Manage fee earners’ deadlines and workloads to help maximise their efficiency
3. Prepare correspondence and invoices to clients
4. Review official correspondence and prepare reports to clients
5. Review incoming emails, saving to electronic files and noting any instructions and/or deadlines
6. Produce documents, including standard documentation, occasional copy typing and transcribing audio
7. Work with our Equinox IP management system
8. Assist other members of the administrative team when required
About You
To join us as an IP Administrator, you will need:
1. At least one year’s experience as an IP Administrator, Formalities Clerk, Legal Secretary, or an equivalent role
2. Experience of typing up copy and audio, and ideally a typing speed of 50+ wpm
3. A high level of IT literacy, including MS Office
4. At a minimum, GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4-5/C or above in English and Maths
5. An outstanding eye for detail and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
6. The ability to use your initiative and work independently to assist the fee earning team
7. Excellent communication skills
8. Excellent organisational skills
9. The ability to work as part of a team
10. A willingness to learn
We are also open to considering a candidate with no experience in the world of IP or a secretarial role, on a trainee basis. Office/administrative experience would be preferred.
