The Role We are seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to join our team as a Health and Safety Assessor. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with ISO standards, British standards, and other legal requirements, focusing on Fire, Health & Safety, and Environmental risks. The Company Our Property management team look after £13bn of commercial property across our five UK offices. We work on behalf of fund managers, REITs, private equity groups and foreign investors helping to ensure their assets work harder, delivering higher returns and better performance. We are growing and over the last 12 months have added some of the best, most dynamic property managers around to our already first class team. Key Responsibilities - Health and Safety Assessments: Conduct internal Health & Safety and Environmental audits and risk assessments across all national sites, adhering to an established audit schedule. - Risk Management: Perform risk assessments aligned with best practices and legal standards. - External Audits: Facilitate audits conducted by certification bodies in accordance with UKAS requirements. - Business Continuity: Complete and manage business continuity testing. - Advisory Role: Provide expert advice and guidance during assessments and audits. - Non-Conformity Resolution: Ensure all identified non-conformities are addressed and resolved effectively. - Management System Reporting: Provide comprehensive updates to the Head of Facilities Management on system performance and areas requiring improvement. - Training and Development: Prepare and deliver training sessions to enhance competence and awareness among employees and stakeholders. - Continuous Improvement: Drive the continual improvement of management systems and operational performance. Required Skills and Knowledge - Expertise in conducting internal Health & Safety and Environmental audits and risk assessments. - In-depth knowledge of ISO 14001 & 45001 standards. - Proficiency in IT tools, including Microsoft and Google applications. - Strong communication and client engagement skills. - Comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety and Environmental Safety regulations. - Knowledge of GDPR, Security protocols, and Martin’s Law. - Ability to deliver HSE training effectively. - A focus on embedding and improving safety culture across teams. - Experience in fostering innovation and continuous improvement in service delivery. Qualifications and Experience - Minimum of 2 years conducting Health & Safety and Environmental audits and risk assessments. - Proven experience in producing reports for Directors, Executive Boards, and Clients. - Familiarity with managing large portfolios and engaging directly with clients and the surveying community. - Experience delivering training to key stakeholders. - Clean driving license. Desirable Qualifications - NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent). - NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (essential). - NEBOSH Fire and Risk Management certification (essential). - IEMA Internal Auditor course. - NEBOSH National Construction Certificate. - Awareness of Legionella and Legionnaires Disease. - Graduate Member of IOSH (minimum Tech IOSH essential). - ISO 45001:2018 Internal Auditor certification. - Up-to-date CPD record. - Working towards or achieved Chartered IOSH/MIIRSM/IFM status.
