About the role
Working within Business Support, as a Business Analyst you will deliver streams of work crafted to support and improve our stores and operating model ensuring we always serve customers, communities and the planet a little better everyday. Inspiring change, you will be willing to stretch and develop yourself, working collaboratively to come up with simple, effective solutions for customers and colleagues.
You will be responsible for
* Undertaking sophisticated analytical work to deliver insight and enable improvements in Tesco’s shrinkage performance
* Completing investigations into shrinkage trends to engage teams across the business on their unknown loss, utilising my analytical skills to ensure that the department uses a data led approach to face the key challenges in present and future shrinkage performance
* Using my understanding of data and statistical analysis to craft hypotheses and test findings, to deliver the findings in a clear and engaging manner
* Effectively using data to find opportunities for shrinkage reduction, developing action plans and leading on solutions to deliver benefit
* Being the subject matter expert in natural work teams to advise on changes which may impact shrink while providing knowledge, insight and refining solutions to issues that arise
* Building strong partner relationships in other teams and describing the team\'s insights and plans to a variety of audiences with empathy and conviction
* Supporting Project Managers in Business Support and other functions to deliver change work projects, valuing the potential opportunity and any associated risks and benefits
* Designing and maintaining non-financial reports for the shrinkage and security team, highlighting process issues, compliance and opportunities on how to reduce shrinkage
* Supporting with highly analytical tasks within wider departments where the relevant expertise is not present
* Effectively using my expertise to build the technical capability of other analysts in the Shrinkage team and help shape their work to make it more relevant and engaging
* Effectively using a suite of insight reports provided by the Tesco Business Services (TBS) reporting and analytics centre of expertise to give senior leadership visibility of how the business is performing and proactively identify areas which require improvement
* Following our business code of conduct and always acting with integrity/due diligence
You will need
* Numerate degree/A Level maths or equivalent
* Statistical analysis and research methods experience
* Using data warehousing tools to extract and manipulate data – SQL highly desirable
* Solid understanding of Excel (knowledge of VBA desirable)
* Knowledge of Matlab, R, Python desirable
* Experience in a customer facing retail role
