NGET is at the heart of energy in the UK. The electricity we provide gets the nation to work, powers schools and brings energy to life. Our energy network connects the nation, so it's essential that it's continually evolving, advancing and improving. The Transmission Network Control Centre (TNCC), the staff working within it and supporting it are on the front line of the electricity transmission system, ensuring safety and system security standards are maintained at all times. As Post-Event Investigation Analyst you'll support the discharging of NGET's Statutory and Licence obligations for investigating and reporting system incidents and performance to Ofgem, DESNZ and other stakeholders. With responsibility for following up all Learning Bulletin reports raised by the TNCC, you'll learn what should have and what did happen, taking any appropriate follow up actions. You'll administer and participate in the Safety Learning Group where Learning Bulletin data capture is discussed, decisions made, and data standardised for entry to NGET Incident Management System (IMS). Undertaking trend analysis on Bulletin data, you'll monitor IMS actions for effectiveness to avoid recurrence of issues, sharing and communicating data. You'll interface with other NGET departments with regard to the data, acting as a focal point for your business unit, ensuring corrective actions are identified and correctly prioritised from a Transmission Owner perspective. In addition, you'll act as IMS Investigation lead as and when required. This role is based at our offices in Warwick, and this can be combined with hybrid working from home.
Educated to HNC/D or above in a relevant subject or with equivalent experience, you'll ideally have a technical understanding of power system operation combined with knowledge of the electricity control room and TNCC activities. With a technical understanding of the electricity industry, an awareness of National Grid obligations with regard to Ofgem, DESNZ and other license conditions would be beneficial, as would prior experience of iEMS. You'll have excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, coupled with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail and accuracy.
