To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following: REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE Essential Ensuring at all times that a high degree of accuracy and precision is applied to chemistry methods and procedures through incorporating and promoting good laboratory practice principles. Able to be responsible for ensuring that work throughout is followed in accordance to documented methods and procedures and to correct specifications. Carrying out all method development and validation within the chemistry section of the lab and implementing fully. Able to operate all instrumentation within the chemistry section of the lab. Able to maintain records and laboratory data in agreement with the Deputy Lab Manager such that work is clearly and easily auditable and traceable. Ensure that all laboratory work areas and workstations are kept clean and tidy. Prepared to travel both nationally and internationally if necessary. Ensure compliance with all Company Health, Safety & Environmental procedures as instructed. Maintaining a professional standard and appearance at all times during working hours and whilst promoting the company on company business. Ensure that all Laboratory equipment is maintained in a working and calibrated state, organizing maintenance where necessary and is compliant within the guidelines of the UK’s 17025 accreditation. Provide technical advice and support to the lab staff as required on technical problems, acting in a ‘troubleshooting’ capacity to subordinates. Required Competencies Ability to plan and implement workload. General problem solving. Highly organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong quality focus with a strive for excellence. Good numeracy skills. IT skills – Microsoft and Google applications. Required Qualifications HNC or HND in Science related subject or equivalent as a minimum. Science degree preferable.
